Notes:

Obituary taken from the Sanish, North Dakota newspaper.

Death of Mrs. C. A. Morehouse

Death came in the early morning Friday to take from her home Mrs. C. A. Morehouse who with her husband had lived on their farm about four miles north of town.  Mrs. Morehouse had been ill but a short time with influenza but she had not been strong for years.  She was stricken last week and not being strong was unable to stand the power of the dread disease, and passed quietly away.  Mrs. Morehouse was a wonderful mother and a neighblr that was loved by all.  Always cheerful in the darkest times, she had a strong faith that carried her through the early pioneer days in this country when they were far from town and when things looked dark.  Her happy smile and cheerful words will be missed by all with whom she formerly came in contact.  The bereaved husband and relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.

Miss Amy Nichols was born in Mark Sand, Green Lake Township, Wisconsin on April 7, 1858 and died March 12, 1926, being at that time 67 years, 11 months, and 5 days of age.  She was married on July 4, 1874 to Chester A. Morehouse at DeLaval, Minn., and with him came to North Dakota in 1907.  To this union were born 11 children, 6 boys and 5 girls, one boy and one girl having passed on ahead of their mother.

The funeral services were held from the home and were conducted by Rev. Gough of Van Hook, interment being made in the Amanda Cemetery, 12 miles north of Van Hook.

Mrs. Morehouse lived here all these years except for one winter spent in Blackduck, Minn., and she came back the following spring expressing her wish to stay in North Dakota until buried in her home state.
